I bought Quarantine expecting to return it, but unlike other posters
I was pleasantly surprised.
First of all, yes, the graphics are not the best I've ever seen, but they
aren't bad. The other cars look cool. The pedastrians make very nice splats
on the windshield. Remember, there are more to good graphics than specs.
Secondly, yes, the controls take a while to get used to, but what game
doesn't. The cab is a hovercar so it drifts and goes spinning wildly
if it is slammed into. This, for me, adds to the fun and frantic nature
of the game. The challenge of controlling the cab while weaving in and out
of traffic, mowing down pedastrians, jumping over landmines, trying to beat
the clock, and finding your way around an unfamiliar city is what keeps
me coming back for more.
The best part of the game, imo, is the soundtrack. If you don't like punk
you probably won't agree with me. But if you do, you'll be in heaven.
I only wish it was louder.
The point I'm trying to make, I guess, is that Quarantine has that very
vague and subjective quality of 'great gameplay'. If you ever wanted to
be a maniac cabbie or just look like one, give this one a try.
